Steph Curry

“I’m a big fan of the Golden State Warriors and I drew this portrait of Stephen Curry in 2016, referring to several photos of him before he grew out his his beard. Once called “the popular baby-faced 3-point assassin” by a writer for The New York Times, Curry has continued to live up to this apt description, breaking NBA records. My portrait of this living legend was created with colored pencils on 9×12-inch archive paper.”

Rami Malek

“I first became aware of actor Rami Malek through previews of Mr. Robot, which first aired in 2015. After the pilot’s explosive conclusion, I was an instant fan, following the convoluted (and sometimes confusing) plot twists all the way to the series finale five years later. Throughout that time, I devoured interviews of cast members and the show’s creator, and followed Malek’s stratospheric career as he took a break from the show to film Bohemian Rhapsody. I took notice of his lesser roles as the vampire Benjamin in Breaking Dawn, Part 2, and the Egyptian pharaoh in Night at the Museum. (The latter is literally a typecast: He is of Egyptian descent.) Rami Malek’s career is even more diversified than the above. These are merely the roles I’ve had the privilege to see. Here, I’ve rendered his portrait in colored pencils on 9×12-inch archive paper.”
